Information Technology Description We are seeking a full-time Electronic Health Records (EHR) Assistant, who will work closely with the EHR team, in coordinating the implementation and use of EHR systems across the agency.
In addition, primary responsibilities for this detail-focused, organized professional will include, but not be limited to:
Understand and facilitate the processes, policies, and guidelines related to health records, regulatory compliance, and requirements for proper billing, including HIPAA, HITECH, Medicaid billing rules, and OPWDD regulations.
Assist through both formal and informal training opportunities in training users on the proper use of the EHR systems.
Work with all departments to ensure acceptance and correct use of the EHR system specific to their department needs in efforts to increase the use of support-related electronic records.
Provide user support as needed to assist them in understanding the proper use of the system, and to help troubleshoot system issues.
Report significant system issues to the agency's IT staff and/or EHR system technical staff and follow through to resolution.
Provide regular checks to ensure data completeness and quality.
Notify staff of errors or incomplete data in a timely manner so data can be corrected.
Assist EHR system users in obtaining business intelligence data available through the system and associated dashboards/reports.
Assist the agency's Data Team in understanding program needs to enable them to enhance the dashboards and reports available to end users.
Provide support to internal and external audit/survey teams by managing their account access, explaining how to navigate the system, and providing reports and data as needed.
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends, rules, regulations, and requirements related to the responsibilities of this position.
SCHEDULE:
40/Monday through Friday/day hours; must be flexible, as evenings and/or weekend hours may be required at times, based on program needs STARTING SALARY:
$ 17.
43 to $ 20.
31 per hour Minimum Requirements Two-year degree plus 2 years of experience in the field of developmental disabilities preferred.
Equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
Strong computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).
A thorough knowledge of Electronic Health Records (EHR) utilized within the by the agency and/or demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn electronic health record systems.
A broad knowledge of the programs and services offered by the agency.
Effective communication skills to work effectively with program participants, families, personnel within the agency, and outside organizations.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Ability to adhere to schedules/deadlines, and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Flexibility, reliability, and the ability to work non-traditional hours as needed to meet program/ participant needs.
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings, as needed.
Must be willing to travel locally to other agency locations.
